Honeymoon Recap: Boots & Kimos

After our swim in Hanauma Bay, we decided to head up to Boots and Kimo’s in Kailua.  It had been recommended to us by my friend Kim, who lived in Hawaii for a few years.

Our love affair with this restaurant began when we walked in and saw the football décor.

Granted, we prefer college football not pro, and we ended up at a Carolina Panthers table (Saints?  Colts?  Drew?  Peyton?), but still, it was great.  Plus, PTI was on the TV!  (That’s Pardon the Interruption for those who don’t turn on ESPN immediately when they walk in the door from work in the evening.)

Our lunch (or brunch) started with some freshly squeezed juice.  Matt went safe with orange, and I went “exotic” with pineapple.

We decided to go with the special for brunch.  Pancakes with Macadamia Nut Sauce.

OHH EMM GEE!!!  This was absolutely amazing!!!  The sauce, which looks very creamy, actually tasted very light.  I really must try this at home.  I’ve found a few recipes online that hopefully will be making an appearance on the blog at some point.

After lunch, we headed over to a small beach park; there are obviously tons of them on the island.

It was a tiny little beach that had only a few people.  But, as is true with most of the island, still gorgeous!

We had a great day full of gorgeous fish, delicious food, and beautiful views.  Of course we had to return to our hotel to prepare for date night.  Sigh . . .
